Description Alan Horkan 2005-04-27 19:25:00 UTC
Distribution/Version: Garnome 2.10.1 (on Mandrake)

compiled garnome 2.10.1 and the help for Gnometris has a mess of odd characters
in it.

Also the first page of the manual is labelled as "Unknown".

Screenshots to follow.

Alan:
I don't see how this could be Gnometris' fault, since those bits with the
garbage characters are handled by Yelp itself. For what it's worth:

- Does this happen with all of the games help files? All of GNOME? Just
Gnometris?

- Do you only see this under your notoriusly bad GARNOME setup? :)
Comment 4 Alan Horkan 2005-05-04 16:06:17 UTC
This only occurs in Gnometris, the other games are fine. I guessed there might
be something wrong with the files being used to generate the documentation. I
dont think this has anything at all to do with my flakey garnome setup.

Why is the first page of the index listed as Unknown? Was that just an
accidentally bad choice of page name?
Comment 5 Richard Hoelscher 2005-05-09 18:43:39 UTC
Re-assigning to Yelp, but only because this looks very similar to Bug #300052
and may get set as a duplicate by them.

Also, I don't know why there's the title of "Unknown" there, but I see it in my
FC4test install too, but it's not restricted to gnome-games. I see it in gedit,
eog, etc.
Comment 6 Shaun McCance 2005-05-09 20:28:56 UTC
The 'Unknown' happened because Yelp failed to extract titles for the sidebar
from articleinfo elements, and this help file only sets the title in
articleinfo, not in article. This shouldn't happen anymore with a recent Yelp.

The other problem is indeed the same as #300052, so I'm marking this a duplicate.
