Please describe the problem:
When user has a multi-card reader (or possibly other media drives) installed on
their machine, program gives error "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert
a disk into the drive."

When the error dialog is closed, the program starts and functions as normal.

This occurs on every program startup.

This occurs on Windows machines.

This occurs with both Gaim and The Gimp.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Install a 6-in-one card reader.
2. Start Gaim or the Gimp.
3. Profit.


Actual results:
An error dialog pops up stating "There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a
disk in the drive."
