(I'd like to reopen bug 167753. Unfortunately, it seems only the original
reporter or the maintainer can do that.)

The calendar week number was removed in 2.10/G10 without notice and was very
useful for me too. There should be a preference UI to choose to display it (and
not a gconf entry to edit).
I could not agree more about Marius comment on the 'Show Unix time' preference
which, IMHO, is far less useful and has nevertheless a preference UI.

You can still add comments if a bug is closed to nicely try and convince the
maintainer to reconsider. That is better than opening a duplicate bugreport,
which will likely be ignored. Stating that other preferences are worse won't
help. I do agree that showing weeks is essential.

Thank you very much for the information. I was not aware maintainers could be
noticed of updates to closed bugs, hence the reopening. Thanks for the comment
on the original bug as well.
