GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 301474
Week numbers do not show anymore on clock applet calendar (reopened bug)
Last modified: 2005-04-25 09:05:39 UTC
Version details: Built with GARNOME 2.10.0.1 Distribution/Version: Redhat Entreprise Linux 3 (I'd like to reopen bug 167753. Unfortunately, it seems only the original reporter or the maintainer can do that.) The calendar week number was removed in 2.10/G10 without notice and was very useful for me too. There should be a preference UI to choose to display it (and not a gconf entry to edit). I could not agree more about Marius comment on the 'Show Unix time' preference which, IMHO, is far less useful and has nevertheless a preference UI.
You can still add comments if a bug is closed to nicely try and convince the maintainer to reconsider. That is better than opening a duplicate bugreport, which will likely be ignored. Stating that other preferences are worse won't help. I do agree that showing weeks is essential. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 167753 ***
Thank you very much for the information. I was not aware maintainers could be noticed of updates to closed bugs, hence the reopening. Thanks for the comment on the original bug as well.
