Description David Scott 2005-04-20 18:37:11 UTC
Distribution/Version: XP Home ed.  v 5.1

<just downloaded The Gimp and ran for the first time>
In the "Open Image" dialog box I find the folder I wish to use and click

on the image I wish to edit (e.g. DSCN1.jpg).

In the preview box it get a message;
	     DSCN1.JPG
	       658 KB
	Cannot create preview

Then another dialog box pops up with the message

	jpeg.exe has encountered a proplem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience. (with the option to send this error report to
Microsoft)

Then a Gimp Message box opens with the messages;

	plug-in crashed: "jpeg.exe"
	(c:\Program Files\GIMP-2.0\lib\gimp\2.0\plug-ins\jpeg.exe

	The dying plug-in may have messed up GIMP's internal state.
	You may want to save your images and restart Gimp to be on the
	safe side.

and
	Opening 'C:\Documents and Settings\David\My Documents\My
	Pictures\Sigrid\DSCN1.JPG' failed:

	Plug-In could not open image
