Description Giovanni Corriga 2005-04-15 09:38:45 UTC
When Totem opens a file (either by opening Totem from the Applications menu and
then selecting File->Open, or by clicking the file icon in Nautilus) the
playlist button has the focus. It should be the play/pause button instead.
I suggest this because the most common action when I playing e.g. a movie is
pausing it, not fiddling with the playlist of the things I'd like to watch next.
Also, it would make Totem's window mode behaviour more consistant with the
full-screen behaviour, where playing space automatically pauses the movie.

Confirming.

Sounds fair enough. However when it is started without a movie as parameter the
play button is disabled anyway, so it should be o.k. in this case with its
current behaviour.

Marking gnome-love as this is just a focus thing.

keyboard focus on startup should be the play/pause button if a movie is
scheduled to be played.

ups that is maintainer decision .. removing

Problem is that we can't fiddle with the focus *after* startup. Changing the focus after opening a file would be confusing for people who rely on the focus not changing (such as people using a11y). So we only did it when starting up Totem with a file to open, in bug 343050.
