Distribution/Version: xp pro sp2

upgrade from 2.2.3 to 2.2.6 using windows xp pro sp2.
using gtk 2.6.4 and the animation 2.0.2 package.

when i reinstall 2.2.3 i can open up jpeg files again.

This is almost certainly the same problem described in bug #300186, so I am
going to mark it as a duplicate.  If you have any information to add to that bug
report, could you please add it as a comment there?
