GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 274247
autocompletion with GW address book is not returning all results
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:04:09 UTC
snapshot: evolution-2.2.0.0.200503210400-0.snap.novell.0.1. GW Novell Address Book is in my autocompletion folder I've tried both first and last names to match those names and these are valid users that are found when I search the Address Book using Contacts. These are just not showing up in Evolution when I use autocomplete. 2 searches not found so far have been: tim draper and martin sommer. No idea if there is any rhyme or reason to these 2.
you can complete any other contacts ? I can complete both the contacts you mentioned. There seems to a timing issue with new name selector code while auto completing from large address books over network. Can you do the follwing Just enter tim in To field and wait for 1 or 2 seconds and press space bar after that and tell me if you see "Tim Draper in auto completion list shown.
yes i can complete many other contacts in the gw addr book. these are the only 2 i've noticed of people i've sent email to. to reproduce make sure neither are in your frequent contacts
Tested with 2.3 and works for me. Also since now we maintain the local cache, it should not have any timing issues. Reopen the bug if you are still seeing the problem.
Reproducable with evolution-2.3.8.0.200508260453-0.snap.novell.11.1. Reopening the bug.
I get both the ids.. can u enable address book debug environment variable and provide the debug messages printer there? I would like to know, if it is reading from cache or from server. If reading from server, how long it took to return the result and number of matching contacts found.
re-targetting as I couldn't replicate.
