Description Randy Zajonczkoski 2005-03-18 21:41:49 UTC
Description of Problem:

If I create an Exchange 2003 login/mailbox of
Randy Zajonckoski I get the error "No mailbox
for user Randy Zajonczkoski on 192.168.1.1".
But, if I create account named
Randy_Zajonczkoski then it works fine.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1. Use an Exchange 2003 username and mailbox
name of "Randy Zajonczkoski"

Actual Results:

"No mailbox for user Randy Zajonczkoski on
192.168.1.1"

Expected Results:

Expect it to login properly and display the
mailbox.

How often does this happen?

Everytime

Certain interesting observations:

1) Created an account on the exchange server as "first name" (Note the blank)
2) I could configure this account in Evolution (2.5.90) and could succesfully retieve all the folders.
3) Tried sending a mail. It failed with an error message: "You cant use this From Address"
4) Tried sending a mail from OWA and it worked. But, the space in the From address has been silently removed. I checked this in the destination mailbox and the sent-items of "first name" account.
5) The mail that was thus sent was visible in Evolution's sent-items for "first name" account.
6) Interestingly, I could NOT login at all to this account using Outllok.

Tested using Exchange Server 2003 and Outlook 2003

P.S: The error message "You cant use this From Address" is because of the forbidden-access response from the Server. However, you can send mails using SMTP/Send-mail and write a filter to copy the message into the exchange's sent items. Or still easier, create a dummy a/c with only Sending-page configured and set the exchange's folders as the Sent-items folder and send using this account.
