Messages are not automatically displayed
Last modified: 2013-09-10 13:53:17 UTC
Distribution: Fedora Core release 3 (Heidelberg) Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: GNOME2.8.0 unspecified Gnome-Distributor: Red Hat, Inc Synopsis: Messages are not automatically displayed Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: UI Bugzilla-Version: unspecified Description: Description of Problem: I will receive alot of mail and as I am browsing my messages ... suddenly messages stop displaying and the final message will stay and I will get in the task bar on the bottom "Formating message (...) Even though I go to subsequent messages the same message is displayed ... I can double click on another message and a new window will pop up with the message as it should This is not a show stopper but it is an annoying bug. I am running Fedora Core 3 with evolution 2 Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Browse Messages one by one 2. 3. Actual Results: A single message usually with graphics stays in the preview pane even when I choose the next message. Expected Results: Each message is displayed as I choose it. How often does this happen? Additional Information: Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
I started to look into this bug and saw that 68919 was already reported this could be a duplicate of the frozen preview pane bug .... I did a bit of testing and found that the hang always occurred on a message with lots of images usually a spam message .... I had as a setting only display images from people in my addressbook ... I have an openladap server at the backend ... is it quering ldap? ... so I turn on display all images and I haven't had a hang ... who knows ...
Assigning to mailer, but probably an addressbook or gtkhtml issue
this is a duplicate of the addressbook hang when doing addres lookups to decide whether or not to display images
