Bug 270139 - "Mark as ..." options not at an intuitive location in menu

Description Sandip Bhattacharya 2004-12-02 15:59:58 UTC
Description of Problem:

Currently, the "Mark as xxx" options are under the "Edit" menu. This seems
unintuitive. I would expect to find these options under the "Actions" menu
because these options "act" on the messages.

Actual Results:
As an example assume that you are an Evolution newbie. You want to mark all
messages in a folder as read. You have to go to "Edit" menu item and use
the "Mark all messages as read" option.

Expected Results:
An evolution newbie would probably look at the Actions menu first to mark
messages. Not finding it, he would search around and finally find it under
Edit. :)

This will be fixed with the new menu layout changes that are going to go into
2.4. Moving the target, and re-assigning to myself.

of course, where it is in th enew menu layout is completely uninuitive for
anyone who has ever used any mail client but the mac one.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2005-06-14 13:09:19 UTC
in order to destroy the UI component (as discussed with jpr, dobey, and nags),
changing component to the component of the assignee.
adding UI keyword.
Comment 4 Rodney Dawes 2005-06-14 15:40:35 UTC
These are now in the Message/Mark as menu in HEAD.
