GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 269977
"Error while Pinging IMAP server" error dialog is useless
Last modified: 2005-05-19 06:46:40 UTC
----------------------------------- Evolution Error ----------------------------------- Error while Pinging IMAP server XYZ Success. ----------------------------------- (There's also "Error while Scanning folders in ..." "Server unexpectedly disconnected: Connection timed out." or my favorite "Server unexpectedly disconnected: Success.") These error dialogs seem utterly useless. They provide no clue whatsoever about the severity of the error. Do I need to do something, there's no hint about what that something might be? And if I don't need to do anything why show the dialog in the first place?
Reopening and reassigning to UI since I simply can't believe useless error messages are something one would intentionally designed for.
in order to destroy the UI component (as discussed with jpr and dobey), changing component to mailer.
uhm, shouldn't forget to add the UI keyword
this is a dup of some other one about error messages going to a notify area or something
