GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 266529
Mailer confuses messages received via E-mail and NNTP
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:03:26 UTC
Distribution: Unknown Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: GNOME2.8.0 2.0.0 Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org Synopsis: Mailer confuses messages received via E-mail and NNTP Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Bugzilla-Version: 2.0.0 Description: Description of Problem: A number of the mailing lists I subscribe to are also mirrored on NNTP access via INN -> Mailman transport. When someone posts to these lists via NNTP, and I receive the message via E-mail, and attempt to reply to the message, the "Newsgroups" header in the message causes Evolution to believe it should post via NNTP instead. And since I don't use Evolution for NNTP, replying to these messages fail. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Subscribe to a mailman list mirrored via NNTP (the lfs-dev@linuxfromscratch.org list is one such list). 2. Find a message that was posted via NNTP instead of E-mail 3. Try to reply Actual Results: Evolution will attempt to post to the NNTP list, even tho the message was recieved via E-mail Expected Results: Should reply to the mailing list instead How often does this happen? Always Additional Information: Unknown reporter: jeremy@linuxfromscratch.org, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com. Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
just empty out the post to entry box. this is not a confusion, if it has that header it is a news message.
