This bug is for usability.

When "clear" is pressed, both the search field (Subject Contains, Recipient
Contains, etc) and the parameter (text field) are cleared.  I only expect
the text field to be cleared.

Note that OS X's Mail.app only clears the text field.  They probably had
some usability folks decide to do it this way.

It works so not a prob. But im trying for a soln that if CLEAR is pressed in Advanced Search mode, it opens the advanced search dialog again. which is very annoying.

Oswald is working on it iirc.

With the new search UI, this bug is fixed. If you clear, it clears just the text/search. The filter option is not reset.

Thank you, Srinivas.  I'll build from garnome and verify over the next few weeks.  Just started a new job, so I don't want to get distracted from my primary work quite yet.
