GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 261969
Bad plural form: foo(s) in addressbook-errors.xml
Last modified: 2005-07-20 05:42:14 UTC
The message below uses broken plurals of the form "foo(s)". It's not good English, and pain to translate. #. addressbook:save-error primary #: addressbook/addressbook-errors.xml.h:49 msgid "Unable to save contact(s)." msgstr "" See for further info: http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#plurals
These recommendations for plurals are for use in strings in source code. Do you have a better suggestion for how to do something equivalent to ngettext () with strings in static xml files? Since that is what we're dealing with here.

sushma: a comment for the translators would be great, it's very hard to translate "Error saving {0} to {1}: {2}". :-) http://developer.gnome.org/doc/tutorials/gnome-i18n/developer.html#use-comments also adding dependency to the string translation tracking bug.
Fixed..
