GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 261192
Filter junk on only some accounts, not all
Last modified: 2004-08-29 23:39:46 UTC
It would be useful to be able to specify in the account manager whether junk filtering should happen for mail received for that account instead of the all-or-nothing switch in Mail Options. The account I use for my family receives no spam at all, so I would rather not risk having a valid mail marked as junk and lose it.
Such a feature already exists! But it is confusing and, I think, somewhat broken. Jens, go to the Account Editor, Receiving Options page. Here you will find account-specific settings. It is not clear how these settings relate to the global settings, or if they even work. I messed around with them a couple of weeks ago and suddenly *NO* spam filtering was occuring even though I had chosen to "Check new messages for junk contents" in the account settings for my main account. I am going to close this bug and open another one to cover problems with Junk. Please re-open if I have misunderstood your issue, but FYI it appears that the global setting MUST be on to allow any spam filtering to occur, and you can then select, on a per-account basis, which ones you want filtered.
Sorry for the spam. I just filed related bug#264455
