Description Baltasar Cevc 2004-05-24 10:39:47 UTC
A function to export contacts (and other data) to common formats like
ldiff, cvs etc. would be great.
Comment 1 Sven J. 2005-02-27 14:11:20 UTC
full ACK ! export function to .ldif is still missing.

try synchronising online-contacts and PDA's without it, no chance.

Pleaze give me that feature! :-)

adding eplugin keyword
Comment 4 André Klapper 2005-05-17 18:24:22 UTC
errr... also see bug 281146 (vcf/vcalendar export for *calendar*) and bug 235502
(html export for calendar and contacts) about this.
Comment 5 Not Zed 2005-05-19 04:14:45 UTC
a common exporter mechanism would be better than individual plugins for each
type. but that would do too as a start
Comment 6 Thilo 2005-05-19 09:56:25 UTC
isn't there already a library that already contains that functions?
Comment 7 Scott Torr 2005-08-26 16:27:11 UTC
This command does not export to a CSV format - BROKEN
usr/lib/2.2/evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv

This command does export to a vcard format
usr/lib/2.2/evolution-addressbook-export --format=vcard

version 2.10.0

But vcard is less useful/supported than csv!
Comment 8 Sushma Rai 2005-08-27 10:18:38 UTC
CSV export is fixed now.
Comment 9 Eric Morey 2008-10-15 14:38:52 UTC
This enhancement has been posted since 2004. Has anyone worked on this feature? It seems a good first step would be to incorporate evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv functionality into the evolution menus.

I can echo Eric's comment:
"This enhancement has been posted since 2004. Has anyone worked on this feature? It seems a good first step would be to incorporate evolution-addressbook-export --format=csv functionality into the evolution menus."

The export function for common formats is still a very needed one, I hope someone will work on this sooner than later. Many will be grateful. Thanks in advance.
Comment 13 André Klapper 2021-05-19 11:44:47 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
