Description Tommi Komulainen 2004-05-13 17:25:02 UTC
A message that takes a lot of time to render is marked as read long before
it's even displayed. Easily reproducable if GPG is slow, like when it's
configured to fetch unknown keys from keyserver automatically and the
network is lagging.

The timer that triggers the marking as read should be started after the
message has been rendered, not when the rendering starts.

I still see this with IMAP in 3.10 occasionally.
Comment 6 André Klapper 2021-05-19 12:12:57 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new bug report ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
