Description Johann Glaser 2004-04-24 20:57:46 UTC
Distribution: Debian testing/unstable
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: GNOME2.6. 1.5.7
Gnome-Distributor: GNOME.Org
Synopsis: Incoming mail changes selection of emails
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer
Bugzilla-Version: 1.5.7
Description:
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Select one of your email folders -> all emails in that folder are
shown in the top right list
2. select a view of these emails while holding down the [Ctrl] key
3. wait until a new email arrives which is sorted (by a filter) into
this particular folder

Actual Results:
The selection is removed, only one email is selected (and thus displayed
in the preview pane)

Expected Results:
The selection should retain as it is.

How often does this happen?
always

Additional Information:
This occured when I was looking at a vFolder. Probably this only happens
in vFolders.

Setting qa contact to the default for this product.
This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.

this is actually a mailer bug, although partly because of changed
etable behaviour.

not sure how fixable it is.

jeff, do you want to look at this?

we don't want to store this on the folder persistently, but it would
be nice if it hung around for the session. that shouldn't be much
different from having it just work when you get new messages.

should be able to get the selection then re-set it just using a list.
