GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 257169
IMAP INBOX not subscribed by default for multiple IMAP accounts
Last modified: 2005-11-15 02:22:21 UTC
The first IMAP account created subscribes the INBOX properly. Subsequent IMAP accounts get all folders except INBOX subscribed. May or may not be relevant, but I'm using only one IMAP server for all three accounts. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Setup IMAP account under Evolution. I turn off the "Check for new messages in all folders" option as I'm setting up the accounts. 2. Setup another 3. And another Actual Results: Only the first account gets the INBOX in the folder list. Subsequent get all folders except the INBOX. For the 2nd and 3rd accounts I need to explicitly subscribe to the INBOX. Expected Results: INBOX in folder list. How often does this happen? This happens only the first time. I've tried deleting the accounts and re-adding them and they then are ok. I've also tried deleting the account folder under ~/.evolution/mail/imap and then re-adding the account, and it also is ok. Account details are obviously remembered somewhere since it also does not ask me for my password on subsequent setups. Additional Information: I generally turn: off - Check for new messages in all folders on - Automatically check for new every xx minutes on - Show only subscribed folders on - Apply filters to new messages in INBOX on this server on - Only check for Junk messages in the INBOX folder
evolution doesn't auto-subscribe to any folders so this is not our problem. evolution gets the subscribed state from the server. aparently whoever setup these accounts for you didn't default the INBOX to subscribed. *shrug*
Perhaps it is an interaction problem with Mozilla 1.6? I've already been using these accounts for a year or so with Moz. 1.4, then 1.6. As I was trying out Evolution I was switching back-n-forth between the two mail clients (Mozilla of course was showing the INBOX in all accounts).
