The Paste pulldown is active in the following screenshot, even though there
is nothing to paste into. I thought perhaps it was for pasting into the
section above the current email folder that allows you to do searches for
string, but that doesn't work.

So this seems like Paste should be disabled, it doesn't do anything here.

Attaching screenshot.

Hmm. Well, what was copied to the clipboard at the time you took that
screenshot? Just some text?

I think on this one I disagree with you -- if you had cut or copied a
message instead of some text, then selecting "paste" would have pasted
the message into the selected folder. that is to say that there is a
context in which you have copied something and paste should be active.
Comment 3 Ben Kahn 2004-04-07 21:31:23 UTC
Hmmm... I just tried this in a vfolder and, of course, nothing
happened. So paste should be disabled there.

Also, it seems like paste should only be active if the content can
actually be pasted.
Comment 4 Not Zed 2004-05-18 08:32:54 UTC
this just activates if you have a folder.

i don't know if you can determine the selection content type without
actually requesting it - which is expensive and slow.

so this may be quite tricky to fix.

Punting this over to 2.3 where the new menu UI should help solve this
problem.
Comment 6 André Klapper 2005-07-19 18:16:57 UTC
changing component to "Mailer" to get rid of the UI component, also reassigning
as discussed with nags... adding UI keyword.
Comment 7 André Klapper 2006-02-27 22:54:38 UTC
david, still valid in 2.5?
anyway, changing target milestone from ancient 2.3 to future.
Comment 8 David Richards 2006-02-28 14:06:09 UTC
UI has changed, closing.
