Clicking on trash can Icon in toolbar does not delete appointment

Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: In the local calendar I clicked on an appointment so that it was highlighted. I then clicked on the trash can button in the toolbar, the button depressed and then became inactive when I release the mouse button. However the appointment was not removed from the calendar.
