GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 253554
junk icon is not obvious
Last modified: 2008-03-29 14:22:15 UTC
I couldn't figure out what the junk icon was, particularly in the toolbar. I think it's supposed to be a wadded up piece of paper, but the icon at least at the small toolbar and folder tree sizes did not convey that to me at all.
i have to agree here. it looks more like an icecream to me :)
It looks like a loogie from the Beavis and Butthead desktop game where you hock loogies off the roof of the school. Fun game. Bad to convey as "Junk". :) Adding the UI keyword.
You may confuse it witha pile of * at the 16x16 size, but the important thing is that it's clearly distintcive from the other icons and easily distiguishable. Its silhuette is unique, so is the color. Lowering priority.
Reassigning to UI team who takes care of all this.
danw says it looks like a blue bunny rabbit

If we change this, it won't be for 2.0
Punting to 2.3.
changing component to "Mailer" to get rid of the UI component, also reassigning as discussed with nags... adding UI keyword.
Apologies for any spam... cc'ing usability-maint on all Evolution usability bugs. Filter on EVO-USABILITY-SPAM to ignore.
punting
FWIW, I dont like it either. It looks like everything from icecream, bunny rabbit to tin tin's hairstyle, except junk. Is anybody actually looking at this ?
removing old 2.5 target milestone and retargetting to future - sorry.
Closing as NOTABUG since we're using the standard icon names for junk now. If it's still an issue, the icons need to be fixed in gnome-icon-theme.
