GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 252744
Appointments with a start date before 1970 don't show up in the calendar view.
Last modified: 2004-02-01 06:17:53 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: Recurring appointments that start before 1970 don't appear at all in the calendar view. A typical use case for this is tracking birthdays. You would set the start date to be someone's birthdate, so their age can be determined. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a new appointment 2. Check the "All day event" check box 3. Set the year in the Start Time and End Time fields to 1969 4. Set the summary to "Someone's birthday" 5. Set Recurrence to Simple Recurrence 6. Set the recurrence to every year 7. Click the Save toolbar button Actual Results: The appointment disappears Expected Results: The appointment should appear every year since 1969, up to the present year and beyond. How often does this happen? Every time. Additional Information: Note that if the start year is set to 1970, then the appointment shows up correctly in the calendar view. Therefore, it would seem to be related to the unix epoch.
