GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 250431
Contact list does not track changes in its members
Last modified: 2013-09-10 14:03:17 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: Up to the latest stable Evo release, contacts that are dragged into a contact list could be edited without the change being reflected in the contact list. This makes the contact list feature rather useless as it is hard to maintain; I personally end up creating folders, selecting all its members then 'Send Message to Contact' instead. I debated with myself whether to file this as a wishlist item or a bug, but really, a contact list should behave better (see Apple's Mail.app). Perhaps make it differentiate between typed address and links to contact objects? I'll be realistic and would expect nothing more than a revamped Contact management system when 2.0 comes out though. Is this fixed in HEAD already? Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Drag a contact into a contact list 2. Edit the contact's e-mail address 3. Send message to contact list Actual Results: Message sent to old address Expected Results: Message sent to new address How often does this happen? Always Additional Information: evolution-1.4.5-2
This is a duplicate report, however I'll use it for tracking requests.
It may not be possible to do this for 2.0 but we should at least review it.
Retargeting 1.5.3->1.5.4 bug reports. Sorry for the spam.
