Description James Drabb 2003-10-20 15:51:29 UTC
Description of Problem:
I always get extra line breaks in HTML
mail sent from Outlook clients.

Email that should look like:
Line 1
Line 2
Line 3

Looks like:
Line 1

Line 2

Line 3

Here is a screen shot:
http://web.tampabay.rr.com/jdrabb/files/evo-line-breaks.png

Here is the text of the email:
http://web.tampabay.rr.com/jdrabb/files/evo-line-breaks.txt

The "HTML" that the outlook client outputs is
pretty bad looking. I think they are using MS
Office to handle their HTML emails in outlook.
Sadly, most people where I work do this. Is there
any way to have a remvoe extra line breaks button
for email like this?

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. See above
2.
3.

Actual Results:
Extra line breaks in broken Outlook HTML mail

Expected Results:
Some way to work around this such as a button to
remove extra line breaks in HTML email

How often does this happen?
Every time

Additional Information:
Red Hat 9, XD2, evolution-1.4.5-0.ximian.6.0,
ximian-connector-1.4.5-0.ximian.6.1

Hi James, is this still a problem? And if so, can you upload here a sample mail, please?

Thanks for reminding me of the bug. I have a sample mail, slightly modified, but the content is still that one. The interesting thing is that the plaintext body part shows data in the same way as evolution. And in HTML part, every single line is closed in the paragraph. I'm not sure whether we can cheat this by default, maybe it requires some menu option to force cutting empty lines?
