GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 244881
No message filter log
Last modified: 2004-12-15 18:42:26 UTC
If incoming mails are deleted by a message filter, there is no possibility to find out about this, since the filtering process can’t be analyzed later. For an automatically working feature that can destroy data, this is a must!
Added keyword 'filters'
you can actually configure evo to log, but you have to edit the gconf keys yourself there is no gui for it... anna: is this intentional? or did you/we just forget? either way I see no reason to add this to 1.4.x
I believe that adding a message filter log is in the list of mailer feature improvements for 1.6. As to why this does not exist now, I woudln't know -- presumably lack of resources to implement it given the deadlines we were trying to meet, or something. So, yeah, adding this is planned. :) Interface wise, the most similar existing gnome tool is "redhat-logviewer". Joerg, are you familiar with this tool? (Probably not, if you're using Solaris, eh?) If you are familiar with it, do you think that a user interface similar to that one would be appropriate? -Anna

Moving all 2.0 milestones to 1.5.x, please retarget if needed.
this would fall into 'new features' right, which we've hit a freeze on for 2.0
Futuring, then.
