Description Greg Edwards 2003-05-07 22:21:02 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Minor
Version: 1.2.1
Synopsis: Would like strong visible signal that an email folder is partly concealed by a search
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Shell

Description:
Description of Problem:
I frequently search my Inbox, Sent, Trash for messages. There's no clear
signal shown that the contents have been reduced by a search. When you
come back to that email folder, the search is persistent and the items
are still filtered down. If you've forgotten in the interim that you did
a search, (since it could be hours later) you can spend a -lot- of time
panicing what on earth has happened to your mail box and how have you
lost a host of important messages. This has happened to me about 10
times. (Call me stupid if you like). I would request a feature to put a
very strong visible signal on the panel that you're in serach mode, like
a big red icon somewhere, or list the message headers in a special
colour. Thanks !!!!

hey, that's cool, like having a colored background in browsers if you are on a
ssl webpage.

marking this as a duplicate of bug 271238 - i know that this one here is older,
but the discussion at bug 271238 is more detailed and deeper.
