Description kstone 2003-04-08 15:52:04 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: 1.2.3
Synopsis: Feature request: Threaded message list sorted by newest message in thread
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
This is not a bug, but a request for new feature. Currently the
Threaded Message view, in a sort-by-date situation, is sorted by the
first message in the thread (the oldest.).

Where in a non-threaded view one would expect to see the newest email at
the top of the list, in a threaded view brand new emails appear where
the first email in the thread appears. This could be days, or even
months back in the list.

Sorting by the newest email in the thread would make active threads rise
to the top. This wouldn't affect other sort options, except maybe
Recieved.

It may be a current feature. I looked around and couldn't find it. I
don't think I've seen it in another email client.

Anyway, Evolution is the best mail client out there. Thanks for all the
hard work.

probably a duplicate. anyways, pretty hard to do with the current tree
widget (since the widget handles sorting itself).
