Description mvdwege 2003-03-20 15:38:38 UTC
Sorry if this turns out to be a dupe, but I couldn't find it in the
bugzilla database. Anyway here goes:

The Evolution Settings dialog is simply too large. It measures 1152x560
pixels, and it is non-resizable. This makes Evolution hard to use on my
laptop, using Gnome 2.2 with the Sawfish Window Manager.

Since XGA (1024x768) is a commonly used resolution, and the main panel of
the Settings dialog is more than large enough to contain all information in
there in a smaller size, could this dialog be set to a smaller size?

This works in most settings, do you have any particular theme, font or
something?
Comment 2 mvdwege 2003-03-21 00:55:09 UTC
I currently run Gnome using the Lighthouseblue theme for both Gtk1.2
and Gtk2. However, I have seen the problem with all other Gnome1 and
Gnome2 themes as well.

Are there any Sawfish settings that might influence the behaviour of
dialog windows? If I could change a setting that makes the dialog
resizable, I would be able to use Evo on my laptop with a little more
ease. As it is, Sawfish treats dialogs as unresizable, and gives the
Settings dialog its default width of 1152 pixels.

If so, this might be a Sawfish issue, and this report can be marked
RESOLVED.
