GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 237470
People keep complaining about unreadable gpg-signed mail
Last modified: 2003-02-05 17:57:35 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 1.2.1-2 (Debian) Synopsis: People keep complaining about unreadable gpg-signed mail Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Description: Description of Problem: As a regualr user of gpg I let gpg sign my mail by default. However, since I upgraded to the current version of evolution I keep getting mails from people who are unable to open my signed mails. Problems disappear when I resend them without signature. Complaints are mostly from users of webmail-accounts who simply see nothing but also pop3-users who are unable to retrieve the mail from the server or get garbage displayed instead of a regular attachment. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. create a (preferably large) pgp key. I have 3kbit 2. sign all your mail with it using the evolution sign feature. additional file attachments may worsen the situation. 3. send it out to many people. Actual Results: Complaints Expected Results: Correct Mail How often does this happen? I get about 20-30% complaints and presume the real number of problems to be higher. This is getting unacceptable. Additional Information: I'll gladly send out signed mail to anyone who is willing to analyze it. Unknown reporter: debian_bug_buddy_mail@spamfilter.de, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com.
