Description Kirk Strauser 2003-01-29 17:10:51 UTC
Description:
Calendar does not cope gracefully with events taking place before
1970-01-01. This is a problem when importing events from other systems,
such as via synchronizing with a Palm device.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Create an event with a date before 1970-01-01.

Actual Results:
The event appears in the calendar on the last day of the year in which the
event was created.

Expected Results:
The event appears on the date specified.

How often does this happen?
Consistently.

Additional Information:
The reason for wanting to create old events may not be obvious. With some
datebook applications on the Palm, a user can see the number of occurrences
of a repeated event by tapping on that event. Therefore, you can add
birthdays and anniversaries, set them to be repeated once per year, then
see at a glance how many times the event has happened. This probably isn't
a show-stopping bug, but it is a bit inconvenient.
