GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 236953
Outlook incorrectly displaying html messages created in or replied to in Evolution
Last modified: 2006-07-19 08:44:43 UTC
Description of Problem: Outlook displays a white area to the right of the message text when viewing messages that have been created/replied to. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Create a new message and send to yourself. 2. Reply to the message a few times. 3. Send to an Outlook user. Actual Results: The more times you reply to the message, the more white space is shown. If you reply 7 or 8 times, the white space is as wide as the message itself. Expected Results: No white space displayed to the right of the message. (Which is how Evolution renders the same message.) How often does this happen? Every time. Additional Information: Have created messages in Evolution 0.8 and 1.2 on Mandrake 9.0 and Gentoo Linux. Using Outlook 2000 on Windows 2000 to view the message.
Is anyone looking at this? Have I reported this problem correctly?
I'm having trouble visualizing the bug, is there a way you can attach a screenshot of the reding problem?
Created attachment 42249 [details] The full message shown in evolution.
Created attachment 42250 [details] The message resized in evolution correctly displaying a scrollbar since the full width of the message can not be displayed.
Created attachment 42251 [details] And this is Outlooks attempt at displaying the same message... :/
Created attachment 42252 [details] Just in case it is of any use, here is the message source.
well, fix outlook's quoting mode then... ;-) anyway, jon, do you still see this with a current version of evolution?
Marking as resolved obsolete, for same scenario verified outlook also displays as evolution displays. Jon: You can reopen this bug if its still reproducible in evolution 2.6.2.
