GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 235107
Crash: Segmentation Fault upon printing messages received from Microsoft Clients
Last modified: 2002-12-05 19:58:34 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Critical Version: 1.0.8 Synopsis: Segmentation Fault upon printing messages received from Microsoft Clients Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Miscellaneous Description: Description of Problem: Can't print out any messages sent from Microsoft Clients primarily Outlook XP Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. I can send messages that I can't print. 2. Deleted and re-created printers, did no good. 3. Other messages (not generated by Microsoft Outlook) seem to print fine. Actual Results: Not only does the message not print, it takes me to the Evolution Summary page and says that I must exit out of evolution and call it back up again if I want to read any email messages. Expected Results: I expect to be able to print out messages like this. Especially since it worked before. If I can only figure out why it isn't working now... Some of the messages I am not able to print are from my Boss :-0 who isn't too keen on me running Linux on this old junky laptop. But, even with this showstopper bug, it still runs better than any Micro$oft product ever did on this. How often does this happen? Every time. Additional Information: I did some research, but found nothing to help me. I thought the updates that I ran today that came out over the weekend would fix it, but they haven't. Seriously considering ditching the evolution email client and looking for an alternative. Can't get Microsoft OUtlook Express for Solaris to work on Linux, though. Debugging Information: Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/evolution-mail' (no debugging symbols found)...[New Thread 8192 (LWP 1270)] [New Thread 16385 (LWP 1279)] [New Thread 8194 (LWP 1280)] [New Thread 16387 (LWP 1281)] [New Thread 24580 (LWP 1563)] [New Thread 32773 (LWP 1564)] 0x420ae169 in wait4 () from /lib/i686/libc.so.6
