GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 230947
Entering address country should check locale
Last modified: 2005-11-15 02:22:21 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Wishlist Version: GNOME2.0.2 1.1.1.99 Synopsis: Entering address country should check locale Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Contacts [was: Addressbook] Description: Description of Problem: When entering an address in the contacts editor, the country should default to the locale of the user or a user set default Setting qa contact to the default for this product. This bug either had no qa contact or an invalid one.
I don't see why. I have about half of my contacts in USA (Non es_MX) and half in Mexico (es_MX), however I use es_ES because es_MX sucks. Maybe the second option, and even that would be a PITA.
We'll i live in holland, and about 99% of my current contacts live in holland... I agree basing it on the locale of a user might cause problems, however a default value would be realy handy. An other option might be to let the drop down list jump to the first letter pressed (or even when typing the country, jump to the closest match
Anyway we are feature frozen, so this will have to wait for a while.
