GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 229844
If a view isn't editable, the "Edit" button should be desensitized
Last modified: 2005-10-21 15:48:07 UTC
In the addressbook, if I bring up the "define views" dialog box, I am listed three default views: Address Cards, Phone List, By Company. If I select the Phone List or By Company view, I can click on the "Edit" button and edit it. When I click on the Address Cards view and click "Edit", however, nothing happens. Also, if I copy it and try to edit the copied view, nothing happens. If a view isn't editable (as it appears that Address Cards isn't), then the "Edit" button should be desensitized rather than doing nothing.
is this still the case? I'm not sure how to reproduce... (just trying to clean out the bugs filed under gal, most of them are old cruft that no longer apply)
Yes, this is still an issue. Go to the contacts view, go to Edit -> Define views You should have (at least) 3: Address Cards, Phone List, and By Company. If you click on "Edit" when Address Cards is selected, nothing happens. It should be grayed out then. You can edit Phone List and By Company. (I also just noticed that the underscores for the accelerators are there... i wonder if this is intentional (and rather esoteric) or whether it's a bug)
hmm... joe, is this a duplicate of bug 240762 (because that one got patches)? the underscores issue is bug 274451, by the way.
Yes, this appears to be a duplicate of that bug. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 240762 ***
