The contact view should not show the "there are no items in this view"
text until the backend has finished sending it data.

For remote backends (eg, connector), there is generally a long enough
delay between when you click on the folder and when it has loaded the
contacts that you can read the whole "there are no items" text.

i still see this with my 135 local contacts in evolution-2.1.4.0.
200502040900-0.snap.ximian.10.1 when i'm opening my contacts for the 
first time after starting evolution. reopening.
