Description Shane Gibson 2002-06-18 17:12:12 UTC
Package: GtkHtml
Priority: Wishlist
Version: Evolution 1.0.7
Synopsis: Feature Request -- Embed VIM editor into Evolution
Bugzilla-Product: GtkHtml
Bugzilla-Component: Editing

Description:

I'd like to see external editors (specifically VIM) embedded into the
editing windows of the Evolution mail client. This would allow for VI
freaks to be able to better edit mail. In general, if a user specified
external editor could be called, that would be best. But, if VIM could
specifically be embedded in, so it was transparent (i.e. "just part of
Evolution"), that would be awesome.

Currently, Jason Hildebrand has brute-force integrated it via his
"gnome-vim" package, and editing the Evolution binary to call
"gnome-vim" via the OAF process. Details can be found at:

There's already a report from Jason dealing with this. Thanks.
