GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 224115
Palm synch only copies from the palm.
Last modified: 2013-09-13 12:31:59 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: Synching with the palm pilot doesn't actually synchronize -- it only copies from the palm. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1. Take a palm pilot with data already in it and put some data in the evolution calendar, task list and address book. 2. Now set up the conduits so that the palm overwrites evolution for address book, calendar and task list. Now synch the palm. As expected the palm overwrites all the data in evolution. 3. Now, in evolution, add a new appointment in calendar, add a new task in the task list and change an email address in the calendar. Also delete one task. Do not change anything on the palm. Set up the conduits so they are set to synchronize. Synch the palm. Actual Results: The new appointment and task are not copied to the palm but they are not deleted from evolution either. The task that was deleted is copied back to evolution from the palm. The contact with the changed email address is now duplicted on both the palm and in evolution (e.g. there are now 2 contacts in one with the old and one with the new address). Expected Results: The new appointment and task should have been copied to the palm. The deleted taks should have been deleted from the task list on the palm. The contact should have remained the same in evolution and changed accordingly on the palm. None of this happened. How often does this happen? Always. I am not able to synch my palm with evolution ever. I can copy data from the palm to evolution but not vice versa. I don't know if this is because I first set things up with the conduits set to copy everything from the palm to evolution or not. If I had started with an empty palm and simply copied from evolution first pehaps things would have worked. It may also have something to do with the fact that I synch this palm with my computer at work as well as my home machine. Additional Information:
Are you able to provide the command line output of gpilotd while syncing?
