GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 223673
Datestamped entries in task description
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:31:42 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Wishlist Version: 1.0.3 Synopsis: Datestamped entries in task description Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Tasks Description: When dealing with tasks, particularly when they involve interacting with other people, I almost always datestamp my entries in the task view. Example: -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Schedule Plumber to come out for: 1. Fix water heater discharge 2. Add T in propane line for stove. 20020418: LMTCB (left message to call back) 20020419: Norm called. We scheduled for Tuesday. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- It would be really cool if the task dialog had smaller "Add Note" textbox under the Description textbox. When you enter a note in the "Add Note" box and save, the new note would be automatically datestamped and appended to the Description text. The Description should still be manually editable, of course.

Naw. This isn't at all the same as bug 200821. Although the ability to sync memos with my Visor (per bug 200821) would be nice, this new enhancement would be purely a change to the Evolution tasklist gui, and has nothing to do with syncing.
Ok, then reopening. Sorry for the spam.
Created attachment 41158 [details] Here's sort of what I'm talking about.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
