GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 223337
Auto-close message-browser when replying to them
Last modified: 2010-10-08 12:55:21 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing. Description of Problem: I don't use the preview pane: I open message windows and close them when I am done reading the email, except when I reply to an email. In this case I usually reply to the email immediately without closing the message window first. The result is that I often have a bunch of message windows open, that I sebsequently bring to front and close. Would it be possible to implement a (configurable) feature that closes the message window that a reply is originating from automatically? I know MS Lookout has such a feature. Regards, Janus Christensen
*sigh* personally I don't think we should even have the bloody message-browser, it is nothing but problems. and different people expect it to work differently. Some want it to close when replying, some don't. Some want it to close when they hit Delete, others don't. when will the hurting stop?

Created attachment 171946 [details] [review] evo patch for evolution; This does it. Though please suggest better strings, I'm really bard with proper wording. Also note that because creating a composer is done asynchronously, then it can happen that the question message parent will be the message-browser itself, and answering it will focus the browser again. It will not happen once user chooses Always or Never, but for the first time it will. There is nothing I can do with it, somehow.
