GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 222397
Task due dates should be displayed in Calendar
Last modified: 2021-05-19 11:45:01 UTC
It would be nice if tasks that have a due date or a start date were displayed in the Calender view. This way I could look at my Day or Week and be able to figure out what I had to do by when. Thanks, Hugh
would really be great to have this feature...

still missing in 2.5
I'd love to have this too. An old (tcl/tk-based) calendar program I used to use, already had this (called ical, but there are more of those...). It would also 'bulldozer' unfinished tasks, so they do not disappear in the past, but remain 'today' (till you finish them).
Bumping version to a stable release.

Still not there in 2.28, still dearly wished for. Any other decent calendar app i know of (even Mozillas Lightning) does this because it's just the right thing to do.
You can easily add/remove column as per your preference. Right click on summary -> add column -> due date or start date
@Akhil: It is not about displaying the due date in the task list, it is about displaying task due dates in the calendar view. So there would have to be something like a virtual calendar, similar to the birthday calendar, that displays birthdays from the contacts in the calendar view.
@Frederik, thanks for clarification.
Isn't it related (or even a dupe) to bug 228832? What can I do to help fix it?
This bug addresses an important usability concern - it is difficult to keep track of your tasks and other work unless you add them as events. Including tasks in calendar view (rather than in a window pane) allows one to have a quick overview of what needs to be accomplished in a given week.
why is there since 2002 no progress on this feature? I also wished my Evolution has this feature!! Is it because it has a priority of minus infinity or is this hard to realise in code?
I'm using Evolution 3.0 and it seems that this feature is not implemented yet. I found this feature in Google Calendar and I'd really love if it could be implemented in Evolution calendar. I agree with highvoltage@gmail.com, that in my current workflow I have to plot the task list to the calendar, adding task one by one to the calendar.

Bump. I really want this too. Is there anything people can do to contribute to this bug?
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new enhancement request ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
