GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 221959
Evolution spellchecks binary attachments
Last modified: 2002-03-15 22:25:08 UTC
Package: Evolution Priority: Normal Version: 1.0.2 Synopsis: Evolution spellchecks binary attachments Bugzilla-Product: Evolution Bugzilla-Component: Mailer Description: Evolution isn't very smart when it quotes PGP encrypted email on reply. There is no problem displaying such an email, but when I do a reply to it, it doesn't decrypt the email, but just pastes it into the edit window. I guess it does this because the PGP encryption was in ASCII armor format, thus looks like a text file. In any case, evolution proceeds to run a spell check on the ASCII armor of the PGP encrypted content, which takes forever... :-) As a fix I would suggest making quoting of PGP messages better and be somewhat smarter on what to include in the quoting. The email that triggered this behaviour was sent with KMail: X-Mailer: KMail [version 1.3.1] MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Length: 437252 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="=-yu12usToJkRBnIKniaBh" --=-yu12usToJkRBnIKniaBh Content-Type: text/plain; CHARSET=iso-8859-15 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit -----BEGIN PGP MESSAGE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org hQENA/lzETKlw/wwEAP1FihUqLpeaURmmeau8uDXl5uTR6h4Sl5EnQXe0V2jfPJy <*SNIPP*> Gvru1M7J3kqAfMr5cThNJASuo/zjsdN9Fhuj9iSoZw== =F8Gt -----END PGP MESSAGE----- --=-yu12usToJkRBnIKniaBh-- Thanks for a great mailer. :-) Regards, Erik Unknown reporter: mirty@sics.se, changed to bugbuddy-import@ximian.com.
