Description dl256 2002-03-09 19:57:46 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Major
Version: 1.0.2
Synopsis: imap problem
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
When I lose the internet connection, and I decid to exit Evolution with
an IMAP folder open, Evolution will not exit properly. A dialog appears
which states that Evolution is exiting, but the process does not
terminate.

I believe Evolution is attempting to close the IMAP connection and it
cannot because the internet connection is down. This does not occur
when I exit Evolution while the machine is connected to the internet.
It also doe not occur when I only have my POP mail account open.

To correct the problem, I need to use "kill -9" to kill all process
created by Evolution. The average user would have a hard time with
this.

I believe that a timeout condition should occur when the response from
the IMAP server is not received. I don't believe it exist right now.

regards,
David Lazanja
