Description Brad Felmey 2002-03-05 17:34:08 UTC
Please fill in this template when reporting a bug, unless you know what you are doing.
Description of Problem:

Evolution v1.0.2 fails to send meeting requests with MIME headers understandable by
Outlook 2002 (XP), rendering Evo 1.0.2 unusable in a corporate environment with this requirement.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Schedule a meeting
2. Send it to a user using Outlook 2002 (XP)
3. Go there and verify that Outlook does not recognize the meeting request for what it is.

Actual Results:

Failure

Expected Results:

Success

How often does this happen?

Consistently

Additional Information:

Since Outlook 2002 has no problem with meeting requests from Evo 1.0, I've done some
comparisons between the two, and Evo 1.0 has one extra line in the MIME headers that
Evo 1.0.2 does not:

Content-Disposition: inline; filename=calendar.ics

This is the only difference I can discern between the meeting requests from the two versions
Evolution. Outlook sees 1.0's "calendar.ics" as an attachment, and acts accordingly when it's launched.
Since Evo 1.0.2 doesn't have this line, Outlook doesn't know what to do with it, and it more
or less shows up as a blank email. I have no idea if this MIME line was dropped on purpose
or accidentally, but it breaks calendar compatibility with Outlook.

I'm pretty sure this is 14705, which is fixed in 1.0.3. As you can
see for 1.0.2 you can use the environment variable.
