Please allow the use of a proxy to obtain the Newsfeeds. 

Also, I'd like to be able to add imap folders to the mail summary.

Please use nautilus to set the proxy. Complain to the gnome-vfs people
if you think there should be a general purpose thing in the control
centre for it.

You can also use gconftool to set the values but I forget how.

As for IMAP in the summary...we're working on it.
