Expanding calendar pane shows as many months as fit in the window (at
the cost of overlapping day view and tasks).
I feel, but I'm not sure if this is enough.
Reassigning to UI team

Is anyone looking at this? I second the comment from duplicate bug 266817. Also,
while being able to see lots of months on screen as mentioned, a dedicated
multi-month calendar view would allow to print them nicely on one sheet of paper.
Comment 4 André Klapper 2005-07-19 18:06:00 UTC
changing component to "Calendar" to get rid of the UI component, also reassigning
as discussed with nags... adding UI keyword.
Comment 5 André Klapper 2006-06-17 23:55:32 UTC
still valid in 2.7, updating version number.
Comment 6 Mark Edgington 2007-07-15 16:31:29 UTC
this bug is also valid for version 2.10 -- getting close to 6 years old. At least to start with it would be good to have a list-view which is capable of viewing more than a month's worth of events. I suspect this wouldn't be too hard to implement, and it would be useful for reviewing all of the events in a year at once.
Comment 7 Matthew Barnes 2008-03-11 00:29:37 UTC
Bumping version to a stable release.

Wouldn't this go within the "View/Current View/Define Views" option? Anyway, the question is purely academic, because Define View's Edit button does not seem to work...

Proposing WONTFIX as I cannot imagine how this should work with regard to screen estate.

Comment 14 Milan Crha 2016-04-08 16:53:49 UTC
There is a problem not only with a screen estate, but also with a paper when printing. I would probably make it similar to gnome-calendar, where the year view looks like a mini-calendar with marked days with events and once the day is selected a list of events there is shown. The similarity would be the calendar view with the year days only, but then there would be a day view on the right, where the detailed view on one day would be shown. When printing the year view, only the selected day would be printed. This might be achieved more or less easily.

The problem is that when I briefly read some of the duplicates it's not what the users expect from the year view. I do not have other comparison than the one with the gnome-calendar currently, thus I do not know how much the idea I proposed is viable for the users.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
