Description KC Connor 2001-12-18 16:02:31 UTC
Description of Problem:
Lotus Notes R5 Client can connect to custom
created Lotus-script Domino databases. Evolution
cannot, or documentation on Evolution does not
cover this element if capacity exists in Evolution.

I could eliminate use of Wine/Lotus Notes R5
Client on my workstation, free up significant RAM
utilization, utilize my processor much more
efficiently, have seamless printing and other
functionality within GNOME/GNU Linux environment,
and in general be considerably more proud using a
Linux desktop in a predominantly MS/MacOS
environment if this capacity were introduced to
Evolution. Domino server database connectivity is
the only technical hang-up preventing our
organization from being able to use a Linux
desktop rather than an MS one.

Steps to reproduce the problem:
1. Unimplemented function in the program.
2.
3.

Actual Results:

Expected Results:

How often does this happen?

Additional Information:
I am not a programmer. I currently am a novice
student of Java/Perl/HTML (as of December 2001).
I would be more than willing to bugtest new
implementations of Evolution, develop
documentation, or other work to further this
potential capacity of Evolution.

You're requesting, in other words, a Lotus Notes/Domino version of the
Ximian Connector? In that case, this is a duplicate.
