I think a really great UI change to the shell's folder tree would be the
ability to click on a folder and then re-click on it a second later (or
however windows does this) which will cause the folder node to become like
an EText or EEntry or whatever and allow me to change the name of the
folder. If I hit escape, then it would cancel my changes or if I hit return
it would change the name to the new name.

fejj, imo supporting "F2" as in nautilus would be enough :-)

I added this feature just recently to the other components (bug #558322).
The folder tree is a bit trickier and will probably have to wait until after kill-bonobo lands.
