GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 216253
Right-click menu in Tasks
Last modified: 2006-01-13 20:08:49 UTC
In the Tasks component, it should be possible to access the settings dialog and to assign the task from the right-click menu. Speaking of menus, users have also requested a menu item which functions like "expunge" in the mailer; that is, which permanently erases all completed tasks. This should be added to the Edit menu, and should also be in the right-click menu.
Additionally, for consistency's sake, Ctl+E should expunge, as it does in the mailer.
The expunge thing is a dup of 12273.
Yeah... we'll leave these as separate bugs (as reflected by the titles.)
Oopsy daisy! My initial description was not quite clear/accurate. What should *really* happen is: In the right-click menu on a task, you should be able to assign it. In the right-click menu on a non-task (the blank space after the task list, for example), you should be able to expunge, and to access the settings dialog. Thanks!
As per discussion with Anna, closing this. We aren't going to have an empty space menu right now because the empty space can fill up. We'll need to adjust e-table at a later date to allow right-clicks on the click-to-add space to avoid this problem.
This report has no target milestone, but it's blocking 16096 which in turn has a 1.2 milestone. So please either reschedule this one or unblock bug 216096. If this is to be closed as per last comment, please do so.
Unblocking, 16096 is too vague
okay, entering some up-to-date information on this: assigning tasks from the right-click menu works for me; accessing settings dialog from the right-click menu is still not possible in evolution-1.4.6.0.200403080631-0.snap.ximian.8.1. an expunge menu has already been added to the menu bar, but not to the right-click menu.
updating to 1.5.9.

2.4.0 as comment #8, adding dependency, reassigning to harish
Huh... Accessing the tasks settings can be done by right-click / Open. Assigning the task can be done by right-click / Assign Task. Using Evo 2.4.2.1. The Expunge thingy is a dupe and handled there. Closing RESOLVED FIXED.
