Description infoz 2001-11-01 15:10:34 UTC
Package: Evolution
Priority: Normal
Version: 0.16.100
Synopsis: fetching e-mail "hangs" randomly
Bugzilla-Product: Evolution
Bugzilla-Component: Mailer

Description:
I have 2 POP accounts. Both the 2001.10.31 and 2001.11.01 builds hang
at a seemingly random place when fetching new mail. The progress dialog
will not advance, cancelling doesn't :) and the only way to cleanup is
via oaf-slay.

I tried disabling one of the accounts and fetching one at a time, and
it's a little better, but still hangs sometimes.

To everyone getting a hang: there are two things one can do to help out:
first: a trace of the server traffic:

http://support.ximian.com/cgi-bin/ximian.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_sid=TImixkWf&p_lva=&p_refno=010813-000000

and second a stack trace:
http://support.ximian.com/cgi-bin/ximian.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?&p_refno=010724-000013

Since there is no crash, instead of waiting for the crash in the
directions in that URL, wait for the hang and then hit Ctl+C in the
terminal that is running GDB. Thanks!
